During the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic hearing on Covid-19 origins, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene asked a question from Former CDC Director Dr. Redfield.
Dr. Redfield discussed the presence of furin cleavage sites as evidence that the virus was engineered. He also mentioned that in 2014, the Wuhan Institute of Virology had already published research on combining coronaviruses with ACE2 and humanized mice.
The conclusion drawn from this research and other biological evidence was already proposed in 2020 by Dr. Li-Meng Yan, a virus and immunology postdoctoral fellow at the School of Public Health of the University of Hong Kong.
Dr. Redfield also mentioned how the EcoHealth, led by Peter Daszak, misled the public during the early stages of the virus outbreak in 2020, helping to conceal the origins of the virus.
